"ADHD simply does not start and 9am then stop at the end of the school day.  Nor does it begin when you are 5 years old and stop when you are 16 years old.  For most, it's constant."  (Gordon Brown, 2008)

ADHD affects approximately 5% of school aged children.  In Scotland, this means we should have approximately 44,000 children diagnosed with the disorder.  However, an audit undertaken by Quality Improvement Scotland in 2008 discovered that there was just over 4,000 children diagnosed with the disorder.  These figures in Scotland are representative of the incidence rate across the whole of the United Kingdom. Click QIS for full audit report.

So, it's official, ADHD is UNDER DIAGNOSED.
Our aims are simple; we want to help those who can not access services locally by providing them with a first class ADHD care pathway by providing an assessment and treatment service that adheres to national guidelines, including SIGN and NICE
Children and Adolescents

Those families who suspect that their child has ADHD can rest assured that they can access a thoroughly professional and comprehensive assessment.  At the end of the assessment process a detailed report is provided describing the formulation of the problems assessed and recommendations for treatment.

Adults
For around 80% of those who have ADHD in childhood, the disorder will persist throughout their adult life. We can help bring some clarity and support to the many undiagnosed adults who struggle to cope with the day to day challenges of life.
